L M Feldman is a Philadelphia-based circus & theater artist whose work is brave, playful, and personal – wrestling with the world we live in, asking questions, challenging norms, and inviting human connection. She freelances as a performer, playwright, collaborator/deviser, artistic consultant, professor, and coach. Her plays and her circus acts have been seen internationally, and she continues to travel around the country performing, teaching, and writing theater & circus. She has served on circus dramaturgy panels hosted by LMDA, Circus Now, and the Montreal Working Group on Cirque. She holds an M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama, is an alumna of NECCA’s Pro-Track program, and is passionate about the art of crafting live performance. During the year, she teaches playwriting to undergrads, med students, and adults, and she’s a coach at Circadium, where she teaches artistic craft and writing live performance – focusing on the artistic tools of circus as an expressive art form (structure, style, character, relationship, themes, ensemble work, text, & more). When she’s not writing plays, making circus, or teaching, she’s devising collaborative theater & circus with ensembles.

L specializes in working with circus artists on developing their acts and ideas to their fullest artistic potential. She works with acts at any stage: developing the seeds of ideas, shaping works-in-progress, or polishing finished pieces. She also works with circus artists on character development, performance technique, audience connection, and crafting & using text. For more info on her work: www.laurenfeldman.com
