Universal design for learning (UDL) is a framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn. Although circus is readily adaptable, the application of UDL can be utilized by circus educators to engage all students. If you have explained the instructions to that student 400 times and they still don’t understand, UDL may help you vary the instructional goals, methods, and materials that can be adjusted to meet individual needs. This lecture-based workshop will help you understand access the different kinds of learning styles. This workshop is beneficial for program managers, circus curriculum creators, and circus educators. The presenter has extensive experience facilitating community group programs with UDL and offering consultative lectures to public schools to incorporate more UDL concepts into their lessons.
