This workshop uses aerial straps to address fundamental movements and muscle activation for any aerial apparatus. It contains information and exercises to help students find three basic positions: pike, tuck, and straddle. Time allowing, it will also introduce how to translate this information to one arm technique. The goal is to learn to use the straps as a conditioning tool for any aerialists to gain greater mobility and strength. It is designed for aerialists and instructors seeking to deepen their understanding of aerial alignment, or discover a different approach to hanging upside down. Shannon has taught this workshop across the world for the past three years and recently written its contents in an approachable instructional manual.
