This workshop will cover how Dragonfly Circus and One World Circus work to create fun and entertaining circus programs which include messages and stories related to social change, especially in politically conservative communities. Some of the shows we create include only youth performers, some only adults, and others youth and adults together, We will discuss how youth and adult performers and other community members become involved in story and message creation. how support for the project is developed and the variety of community resources that are engaged. Workshop participants will choose a particular story or situation of interest to them and explore how circus skills can contribute to that story. We will play with some circus equipment in the workshop.
