This class is being offered for anyone who wants an introduction (or a refresher!) on the terms and ideas related to identities in the trans and LGBQ communities. Members of the ACE Youth Committee will answer questions interview-style to cover a range of topics including definitions of terms, why gender is not a binary, and how to respectfully address and include people of all gender presentations and sexual orientations. There will be time for an audience Q&A, so bring your misunderstandings, misconceptions, and wonderings! While this workshop is not directly circus-related, it ties in with the following day's workshop: Queering Circus. This class is not a pre-requisite for the Queering Circus workshop, however, folks who would like to attend QC and need a 101-level introduction to terminology and ideas are strongly encouraged to attend this workshop, as the basics of LGBTQ+ vocabulary will not be covered in Queering Circus. The panel and Q&A will be facilitated by Johnny Blazes of Esh Circus Arts.
